Lyons, NE, Summer 2009 - NRES operates an off-grid energy farm as a demonstration and training facility in Nebraska. 2009 Summer workshops will offer hands on workshop and training seminars focused on Solar Heating Systems, Small Wind/Solar Systems, Biodiesel Production, Solar Cooking, Oilseed Pressing, Methane Digesters and Vegetable Oil Refining.
Regional Events Schedule, Summer 2009 - Whether it is a citizen wishing to use non-polluting energy sources or a farmer looking to cut fuel costs while adding value to his crops, NRES will be on the road this summer to provide educational materials and information to most of Southeastern Nebraska at county fairs and events.
NRES is the foremost developer of decentralized renewable energy technologies in the state of Nebraska. Producing the first commercial biodiesel in 2005 and developing the only remaining viable commercial biodiesel facility in Nebraska, NRES has also developed tremendous experience with oilseed processing to produce these fuels. Operating an off-grid facility over 5 years using a hybridized wind/solar/biofuel system, the Energy Farm in Lyons is a unique facility. Testing is currently underway on the first vertical axis turbine in the state. NRES is on the front lines of technical, legislative and developmental aspects of green energy in Nebraska. NRES is a privately owned company dedicated to bringing renewable energies to individuals and communities throughout Nebraska.
