Jan Mosby, general manager of the Eastern Nebraska Grain terminal in Lincoln has been selected as the 2008 – 2009 President of the Nebraska Grain and Feed Association. Mosby succeeds Andy Kuhn with Countryside Cooperative in Firth as the Associations new President. Mosby also nominated and the board approved NGF director Mike Rost with the Peavey Company in Kearney as Vice President. Kuhn will remain on the executive committee as past president. The Association’s fiscal year and Mosby’s term begin July, 2008.
Mosby began his career in the grain industry in 1968 as a summer worker for the Grain Growers in his hometown of Pendleton, Oregon. Since then he has worked for Continental Grain Company in Portland, Oregon, Stockton, California, Lewiston, Idaho and Lincoln, Nebraska. After leaving Continental Grain in 1995 Jan worked for Harvest States, Farmland Industries, in Lincoln and Kalama Export Company, in Portland. Jan and his wife Peggy have recently returned to Lincoln to be the General Manager of Eastern Nebraska Grain. During his career Jan has served on the board of directors of the Northern California Grain Exchange, the Pacific Northwest Grain and Feed Association and has been President of the Portland Merchants Exchange.
NGF Directors recently elected to three-year terms include Tina Domier of Bruning Grain and Feed, Bruning, NE; Ryan Pellet with J.D Heiskell in Elkhorn, NE, and; Gail Ortegren with CPI in Hastings, NE.
Continuing their service on the NGF Board of Directors are Randall Schwartz, Farmers Union Coop Assn., Cedar Bluffs, NE; Russ Vering, Vering’s Feed Service, Inc., Howells, NE; Tim Gubbels of North Side Grain Company in Laurel, NE; Todd Gerdes, Aurora Coop, Aurora, NE; Darin Hanson with De Bruce Grain in Nebraska City, NE and; Mark Thompson with New Alliance Bean and Grain in Alliance, NE.
