UNL Water conference set for next week

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) _ ``Water Quality Challenges in the Great Plains'' is the theme of this year's University of Nebraska Water, Law, Policy and Science Conference. The fifth annual event takes place Tuesday and Wednesday at Lincoln's Embassy Suites. The conference will address approaches to water quality improvement, economics of water quality and agriculture and biofuels issues, among other things. Featured speakers include former U.S. Interior Secretary Bruce Babbitt, former EPA water administrator G. Tracy Mehan (ME-han) and former Wall Street Journal environmental editor Frank Allen.
