The Lower Loup Natural Resources District invites the public to a free hot dog lunch and workshop designed to assist landowners with management of red cedar trees and other woody areas on Tuesday, September 22, 2009, at 12 noon at the Aagaard Nature Farm north of Ord. The Aagaard farm is located five miles north of Ord on the Haskell Creek Road and will be marked by workshop signs.
The program will include information on utilization of waste wood and red cedar trees. North Central District Forester Richard Woollen of the Nebraska Forest Service will present information on landowners’ management options and there will be demonstrations of an EZ Boardwalk Sawmill and a wood chipper.
The workshop is funded through a grant from the Nebraska Environmental Trust and is presented in cooperation with the Nebraska Forest Service and NRCS. For more information on the workshop, contact the Lower Loup Natural Resources District in Ord, (308) 728-3221.
