Nebraska Farm Bureau names National Affairs Coordinator
Published Thursday, January 08, 2009 at 01:03 PM
Dux, 23, is a 2007 graduate of Doane College and a native of Fairbury. As constituent services representative in Smith’s Grand Island office, he helped citizens resolve issues with federal agencies; served as Smith’s liaison to state and federal government agencies and higher education; and represented Smith at meetings in the Third District. He also managed Smith’s Agricultural Advisory Committee.
Dux also served as a field director for U.S. Sen. Mike Johanns’ senatorial campaign and for the Nebraska Republican Party in fall 2008. He interned as a legislative aide with the National Grange in 2006.
Dux grew up on his family’s farm, which produces Hampshire and Duroc show hogs. While in high school and college, he worked as a herdsman at a neighbor’s swine operation. He showed hogs in 4-H and FFA competitions and holds the FFA American Farmer degree.
Farm Bureau’s national affairs involvement was formerly coordinated by Rob Robertson of Roca, who will become Farm Bureau’s chief administrator this spring.
