The Holdrege High School FFA, will be hosting a free drinking water nitrate testing program at the FFA Barn at the Phelps County Fair on Monday July, 27 from 5- 8pm. Private well owners may bring samples from their wells to be checked for nitrates. The samples should be brought in a small clean glass or plastic container containing 1 cup of drinking water. The test can be run in less than ten minutes. It can be used as a guideline to see if further testing may be appropriate with the State or County Health Labs.
The FFA Building is located on the Northwest Corner of the Fairgrounds in the white barn. This free testing is open to all citizens on private wells.
