Ogallala conference focusing on sustainable ag

OGALLALA, Neb. (AP) _ The third annual Western Sustainable Ag Crops and Livestock Conference is including sessions on growing and marketing organic wheat. The conference is scheduled for Friday and Saturday at the Grey Goose Lodge in Ogallala. Organizers say the first day will be focus on organic wheat markets and which wheat varieties fit the markets. Experienced organic farmers will discuss their production practices and marketing strategies. On the second day of the conference, a farmer-rancher and a soil scientist will discuss cropping systems and livestock, including discussion about grass-fed livestock.
