Farm Bill Meetings Behind Closed Doors

Tuesday, principals in the Senate-House Farm Bill Conference Committee met behind closed doors. They have yet to resolve nine items, including payment limits, beneficial interest, and privatization of food stamp delivery. House Ag Chairman Collin Peterson was hoping to finalize things today, but there is push back on payment limits from southerners.
Insiders on the Hill say they know the White House will veto the bill. Some farm groups are already thinking of a veto override strategy.
