Homeless programs receive grants

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) _ The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services has awarded more than 2.8 million dollars in grants to programs across the state that fight homelessness. The grants will help in providing emergency shelter and temporary housing for homeless people, and aid coordination between state agencies and homeless assistance providers.

The panhandle received over $181,000. From that money. Scotts Bluff County Domestic Violence Task Force received $23,000, Family Rescue Services $43,000, Northwest Community Action $27,000, Panhandle Community services $72,000, and Monument Family Services $15,000.
