A county road just northeast of Fremont remains closed today following the roll over of a semi-tanker freshly filled with 20 tons of anhydrous ammonia at the intersection of County Road S and Luther Road Tuesday afternoon. Dodge County officials say the road will be closed indefinitely. Law enforcement is on the scene to monitor for possible leaks. The accident occurred around 4 pm Tuesday when the driver of the semi, James Hopfensperger, 67 or Bellevue apparently cut a turn too short and the truck overturned. He was not injured. A response team from Sioux Falls arrived around 8 p.m. County Road S is shut down between Country Roads 24 and 26 and Luther Road is closed north of the bypass indefinitely. The site is just north of the US 275 by-pass.
