GIBBON, Neb. (AP) _ Officials say an anhydrous ammonia leak in south-central Nebraska forced the evacuation of some homes in the area. Buffalo County Emergency Manager Darrin Lewis says the leak from a farmer's ammonia tank was discovered just before 4:30 p.m. Thursday. He says the leak was contained by 5 p.m., and no one was injured. Lewis says firefighters briefly evacuated several homes in a cul-de-sac just outside Gibbon as a precaution. Anhydrous ammonia is used by farmers to help fertilize crops. It can cause severe chemical burns and is lethal if exposure is great enough. ___
