A Lexington man facing attempted murder and sexual assault charges had his bond reduced to $500,000, 10 percent following a hearing Friday in Dawson County District Court. 51 year old William Fellers III was previously being held without bond. Fellers is accused of sexually assaulting a woman and using a T-shirt to choke her. Fellers was arrested Saturday, Oct. 10th, after an alleged altercation with a woman at his home. He allegedly forced a woman to have sex with him. When she tried to escape out of a window, he put a T-shirt around her neck, which cut off her air supply. He also allegedly threatened the woman's life. District Judge Jim Doyle also placed conditions on Fellers should he post bond including a daily curfew of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. The judge also said a protection order remains in effect which requires that he have no contact with the alleged victim.
Fellers faces charges of first-degree attempted murder, first-degree sexual assault, first-degree false imprisonment, strangulation and making terroristic threats, all felonies. He also faces charges of third-degree domestic assault and violation of a protection order, both misdemeanors.
