Published Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at 11:33 AM
The proposed replacement of the east- and westbound bridges on I-80 over the Iowa Interstate Railroad’s track one-half mile west of Adair County Road N-54 will be discussed at a public meeting in Adair Thursday, Jan. 31, according to the Iowa DOT. The meeting will be in the Adair City Hall, 320 Audubon St. The public is invited to attend anytime between 4:30 and 6 p.m. No formal presentation will be made at this meeting; however, details of the proposed bridge replacements will be discussed. The bridges would be replaced in consecutive construction seasons. Through traffic would be maintained on I-80 during construction via the use of head-to-head traffic in the opposite set of lanes. The Adair County Road N-54 interchange on I-80 would remain open at all times and the Adair County Road G-30 interchange on I-80 would be closed.
