State official shocked by incident at Lincoln Regional Center

Yesterday, after the 19-year-old was deemed by a judge to be mentally incompetent to stand trial, Sarpy County deputies handcuffed him and left him in the lobby of the state psychiatric hospital.
Scot Adams is the director of the health department's Division of Behavioral Health. He says people involved in the behavioral health system usually work together, but yesterday's incident ignored the process honored by other courts and law enforcement.
State officials, citing patient privacy, would only say that the man was no longer in the hospital lobby and was being ``appropriately served.''
