OMAHA, Neb. (AP) _ A Falls City woman and former Farm Service Agency employee is facing federal wire fraud charges stemming from her handling of loan payments. A federal indictment was filed this week accusing Denise Schawang of misrepresenting payments on a series of federal loans she and her husband had obtained. Schawang worked as a program technician at the agency's office in Richardson County. Court documents say Schawang entered false information into an agency's computer system so it appeared payments related to the loans weren't late. Federal prosecutors say that resulted in more than $44,000 in overpayments to the couple. If convicted on the 10 counts, she faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
