LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) _ A proposal to change Nebraska's method of execution to lethal injection that has stalled for a month is expected to emerge from a legislative committee soon. A state senator considered the main swing vote in the committee where the lethal-injection bill has been stuck said on Wednesday that he will likely vote to advance the bill to the full Legislature. State Sen. Kent Rogert of Tekamah said he would vote to advance the measure (LB36) out of committee if it is changed to ensure that the death penalty is applied equally regardless of socio-economic status and other factors. But Rogert said he would also advance the bill to the Legislature for debate ``if it is explained to me that there's no way'' the bill can be changed to provide such guarantees.
