Nearly one year ago, during the night of April 26th a John Deere 8530 tractor and a John Deere 1720 16 row stacker planter was stolen from a field south east of Paxton. The planter was a prototype and only one of three made by John Deere. The value of the stolen equipment was over $500,000.00. John Deere has offered an additional $10,000.00 reward for information leading to the recovery of the planter.

Keith County Sheriff Sgt. Jared Small says the last time the tractor and planter was seen was the evening of April 26th traveling south of Hayes Center.

Sgt. Small says the Keith County Sheriff's office is working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation to recover the prototype planter and tractor. If you have any information on this case, contact the Keith County Crime Stoppers at 308-284-4600.
