A Holdrege woman charged with being an accessory in the murder of 49 year old Rodney Marshall of Lexington has had her Dawson County District Court trial set for next month. The tentative trial date for 30 year old P.J. Stapleton is now Nov. 17th, as ordered Friday by District Judge James Doyle. Stapleton pleaded not guilty to an Accessory to a Felony charge during her arraignment in early June. Stapleton is being held in the Dawson County Jail on a $30,000 cash bond. 26 year old Jake Johannsen, a co-defendant, faces a charge of Second-Degree Murder and Use of a Deadly Weapon in Marshall's beating death. Marshall was found beaten to death March 23, 2008 at his home northwest of Lexingon. The defendants were living in Marshall's home at the time of his death. Johannsen is currently serving a prison term for a forgery conviction originating in Phelps county. He is scheduled for a Nov. 6th appearance in Dawson County District Court. His trial date is also tentatively set for November 17th.
