Norfolk, Neb. lawyer named to district court post

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) _ A Norfolk attorney will serve as the next district court judge for a seven-county area in northeast Nebraska. Gov. Dave Heineman appointed James Kube to the judgeship on Thursday. Kube replaces retiring Judge Patrick Rogers. The 7th Judicial District includes Antelope, Cuming, Knox, Madison, Pierce, Stanton and Wayne counties. The 49-year-old Kube has been with the Stratton and Kube law office in Norfolk for more than 13 years. He was named a partner in 1999. Kube also has been an instructor of agricultural law for Northeast Community College in Norfolk. Before his legal career, he worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
