There were several area popular barbecuers on hand Saturday night serving the crowd at the Bands, Brews and BBQ's festival in Cozad. Among them was Clark Laier operator of Luck Chuck's Wagon of Eustis. He prepared Jamaican jerk pork loin, Caribbean chicken breast and flat iron steak marinated in wine and garlic.

Next door was Dawn Lundgren with the Lundgren Family Barbecue. They were serving pulled pork, brisket and baked beans that her father-in-law had "perfected over the past 20 years". It's the people that she enjoys at barbecues. She says that "it's a lot of fun getting people together and everybody enjoys the cookin' and good camaraderie".

John Jordening and his crew from the BBQ Co. were serving Beef Brisket and Barbecue Pork. On barbecuing, Jordening says he enjoys the challenge of "starting a project with nothing and having it all come together and ready to serve at a specific time for a group of people and then working through the meal".

The Paulsen, inc barbecue menu featured ribs and halibut that drew many rave reviews among the crowd.

This is the 6th year for the festival. Other activities during the day included a car show, golf tournament, talent show and kids activities. In the evening, the crowd was entertained with the music of "PolyLine Road" and "Groove Puppet".
