Tekamah Man To Stand Trial
Published Friday, March 21, 2008 at 09:12 AM

A former Tekamah man will stand trial for a D-U-I from April of 2007. A ruling from a suppression hearing earlier this month means that Demetrius Moungo will go on trial April 22nd. He was pulled over by the Nebraska State Patrol April 8th of 2007 and questions arose about the timeline of the traffic stop. No videotape was used in the stop and a trooper entered conflicting times on two seperate reports. County officials argued that Moungo failed field sobriety tests and a breath test also administered in the field. Moungo was in court last week on a seperate assault case. He was not sentenced and will not be until after the April 22nd trial.
