Phelps sets world record in Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) _ Michael Phelps set a world record in the 200-meter individual medley at the U.S. Olympic swimming trials. Phelps claimed his fourth individual victory of the trials with a time of 1 minute, 54.80 seconds. ^ In other Olympic qualifying: -- Proving the Olympics are not just for teenagers and 20-somethings, 41-year-old Dara Torres completed her improbable Olympic comeback by making the U.S. team for the fifth time. Torres won the 100-meter freestyle at the U.S. Olympic trials. Torres made her Olympic debut at the 1984 Los Angeles Games. She and Natalie Coughlin both earned slots in the women's 100. -- Rebecca Soni has won the 200-meter breaststroke and Amanda Beard is also heading to Beijing. -- Aaron Peirsol tied the world record in the 200-meter backstroke at the U.S. Olympic trials, beating rival Ryan Lochte in 1 minute, 54.32 seconds. They're both going to Beijing.
